Our Year 4s have thoroughly enjoyed their Viking topic, this term. They have spent the week bringing all of their learning together to answer the final assessment questions.

In history, we held a mock trial to debate the question: Did the Vikings deserve their vicious reputation? The children chose a side and generated a list of evidence to prove their views. They even thought about which witnesses they would call to support their views. In the end, the majority vote was that not all Vikings were vicious so it would be unfair to assume they all were.

In art, the children will be demonstrating the skills they have learnt by creating a sculpture of a Viking or Anglo-Saxon god. They have created armatures out of their chosen material and have used Mod Roc to create form. The final step will be to paint them using colour and tone.
