Wow, what a busy time we’ve had in Year 1!
We had a fantastic time on our trip to Sherwood Pines! It was chilly but we loved going on a Gruffalo hunt, as well as making smelly potions!
In Science, we have learnt about the different parts of the body, look at our labelling! We’ve also started looking at how we can group different animals into reptiles, fish, birds, mammals, amphibians and insects!
In Y1 Maths, we have been learning how to measure length and height. We can tell if something is taller or shorter, use non-standard units like cubes to measure, and we’ve even learnt how to use a ruler to measure in cm!
During our Talk For Writing learning, we have been finding out how to write a recount, talking about things that have happened in the past! We’ve been pretending to be Queen Rosalind from our Rumpelstiltskin story, recounting how he tricked her!
We’ve been learning about Lent and enjoyed making pancakes with Mrs Barnes on Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday! Yum Yum!
